The Cars
1966 Kelly Formula Vee
The Kelly Formula Vee was designed and built by Wayne Kelly out of Ottawa, Ontario. With Formula Vee starting in 1964, the Kelly was one of the first Canadian built cars. This specific car was believed to be one of the Team Kelly cars, and possibly driven by Horst Kroll. In 1972, Peter Newgard took this car to a 2nd place in Formula Vee at the Canadian Runoffs. This was the first race car that we purchased, back in 2006. There have been many ups, and some downs with this car, but we have always kept it in top condition and it has remained the only constant throughout our racing years. |
1981 Citation-Zink Z-16
Designed in 1978, the Z-16 was designed by Ed Zink and Steve Lathrop. One of the top Formula Fords of it's time, the Z-16 had lots of success north and south of the border in North America. In 1982, Dave Weitzenhoff won the SCCA National Runoffs. We purchased this specific example of the Z-16 in 2016. We were specifically looking for a Z-16 based on it's high competitiveness in the Club Ford class of Monoposto. We found this car, which came out of Texas. The car showed amazing potential immediately, but it was also apparent that the car required a lot of attention. It took close to three full years to get it ready to a place that we were happy with, but it paid off. The car is now very capable to be at the front of any Club Ford field. |
